Samsung DualView TL210
Samsung Electronics America Inc., Booth 2227
The 12.4-megapixel TL210 is the latest addition to the Samsung award-winning and acclaimed DualView family of compact point-and-shoot cameras. The DualView TL210 offers consumers one of the most unique features found on a digital camera – dual LCD screens. The TL210 features a large 3-inch LCD screen on the back of the camera, and a 1.5-inch color LCD integrated into the front. With two LCD screens, the TL210 allows consumers to step from behind the camera to take better self-portraits and group images.
The 1.5-inch front LCD screen is activated with the touch of a button, which also allows consumers to scroll through various options for the front display. When on, the front 1.5-inch LCD will display the image as the lens sees it. This allows subjects in front of the camera to see how the photo will look. The TL210 also offers several enhancements to the most celebrated DualView features, including updates to the Child Mode and Self-Timer.
In addition to playing a fun animation on the front LCD screen, the Child Mode will also play a musical tune to better capture a child’s attention to help snap the perfect picture. The Self-Timer function of the original DualView cameras perfected the group shot, because it displayed a preview of the image and a visual countdown timer in the front LCD screen, giving everyone in front of the camera an indication of exactly when the photo would be taken. Taking the Self-Timer to a new level, the TL210 now extends that same functionality when recording video, so the entire group will know exactly when the camera is rolling. The TL210 adds Couple Shot mode to the use of the front LCD screen, allowing users to set the camera to snap a picture when the subjects in the frame tilt their heads toward one another.
The TL210 offers 720p HD video recording, and a wider shooting range from a shorter distance, allowing the user to capture a full scene without having to step back. The 27mm wide-angle, 5x optical zoom lens is also paired with Samsung Advanced Dual Image Stabilization (IS) technology, which allows users to capture sharp, blur-free images by combining both Optical and Digital IS. The Optical IS intelligently compensates for hand trembling by shifting the lens in the opposite direction. When Optical IS isn’t enough, the Digital IS automatically takes over to ensure blur-free images.
Samsung NX10
Samsung Electronics America Inc., Booth 2227
The NX10 is a mirror-less interchangeable lens digital camera, commonly referred to as a “hybrid” in the digital imaging industry. The NX10 offers the performance and image quality of a DSLR, and the portability and ease of use of a compact point and shoot. Unlike other “hybrid” digital cameras on the market today, the Samsung NX10 is the first to utilize an APS-C sized image sensor (CMOS type), providing a larger surface area to gather light and produce higher-quality images.
As with a DSLR, the NX10 offers users the flexibility of interchangeable lenses and optical image stabilization (lens shift), which enhances creativity by offering additional options for optics. At launch, 3 Samsung NX lenses were made available to consumers, including a 30mm fixed focus pancake lens, an 18-55mm OIS, and a 50-200mm OIS telephoto.
DSC-TX5 Cyber-shot camera
Sony Electronics Inc., Booth 2220
At just 18mm, the TX5 is the thinnest waterproof digital still camera with optical image stabilization. It iss designed to be a slim (fits in your pocket or purse), technology-packed camera that is also waterproof (up to 10 feet), freezeproof (-14 degrees Fahrenheit) and shockproof (up to a 5-foot drop). Included is an Exmor R CMOS sensor that enables the Intelligent Sweep Panorama feature for easily capturing panoramic photos, in-camera High Dynamic Range that works even without a tripod, outstanding low-light performance, and 10 frames per second. With a 3-inch touch LCD, the Paint feature can be used on photos underwater. Panoramic photos can also be taken underwater.
